Rowena is a licensed physical therapist in New York State, who holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Mercy College. She has worked for 20 years with experience in both hospital and outpatient orthopedic settings, treating a diverse patient population comprising of orthopedic and neurologic conditions. She completed specialized training in Pelvic Health and earned Certification as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (CAPP-Pelvic) from the American Physical Therapy Association. She treats both men and women with bowel and bladder issues, sexual dysfunction and pelvic pain. Rowena values a comprehensive and holistic approach to treatment, utilizing mindfulness, breathwork, biofeedback, manual therapy techniques and flexibility and strength training to achieve optimal patient goals and allow for better quality of life.

Rowena provides education for her patients on improving body awareness and movement patterns to facilitate healing. She instructs them on how to manage their symptoms independently so they can maintain or improve gains made during physical therapy sessions. She has recently participated in advanced manual therapy training in Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute and hopes to pursue training in Craniosacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute, to further maximize effectiveness and quality of care. She strives to create greater awareness of pelvic health issues to the public, patients, and healthcare providers so that those needing treatment may be able to access it more easily.
